Coaxial gearbox with hollow shaft

Apex Dynamics developed an extra part to equip a coaxial gearbox with hollow shaft.

Several machine building companies have asked Apex Dynamics recently a very special request, they required a coaxial (in-line) gearbox with a hollow shaft. For example, this combination is used in the drive for conveyor belts. Apex Dynamics developed a shrink disk that can be put on the AD- and PD-series gearboxes and expanding herewith the scope of these series.

With the combination of a in-line gearbox with a hollow shaft it is possible, for example in agitators, antenna systems and conveyor belts to mount more compact and with less components. In fact , this makes it possible to abandon an additional bearing and the servo-clutch.

Apex Dynamics series AD and PD

The series of AD and PD are characterized by a standard output flange ISO 9409, a very compact construction, high torsional rigidity and the ability to absorb high radial and axial forces. The type AD has a stainless steel housing, stainless steel output flange and helical gears. The PD-series has a steel/aluminium housing and spur gears. In addition, it is possible to provide the type of AD completely in a stainless steel version (including servomotor adapter plate).

Dependent on the size of the gearbox they can adapt an input shaft of respectively 13, 14, 18, 22, 32, 40, 50, 55 or 60 mm.

Both models of gearboxes are available in many ratios (3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 15, 16, 20, 21, 25, 30, 31, 35, 40, 50, 61, 70, 91 and 100), as well in-line (straight) and right-angled are appropriate to mount on each servo or stepper motor.
